A good sacrifice needs little effort
Here is a good example of rescuing turtles from their horrible fate. Foreign tourists help in the release of a green turtle in Densapar on the popular holiday resort island of Bali on May 31, 2009 after Indonesian police seized six green turtles from a fishing boat in nearby the day before.
There is good and acceptable animal sacrifice. On an island in the Pacific Ocean once a year a tribe sacrifices a sea turtle and consumes it. Since they live in the jungle far from the coast two strong men of another tribe bring them the captured live animal. The transport takes about 2-3 days on foot. By the time the turtle arrives the villagers in the forest are in high spirits. Then a traditional haggling takes place which ends with a swap of that turtle for a sizeable pig.
I once saw a documentary about that tribe and learned that animal or other sacrifice may take place in which no greed plays part but a strong link, common beliefs and feelings shared by all in the community. That's the message we must learn and then we should judge a sacrifice of any kind in this respect.
